Terminology and Their Uses

Basic Terminology

What does N/F mean?

This stands for "Not Finished". The only Not Finished things we allow are character bios. Not finished customs will be archived upon spotting, and not finished training will be graded as is.

What does IC mean?

IC stands for "In Character", usually used after something is said OOC.

What does OOC mean?

OOC stands for "Out Of Character". This is included in a post where the poster wishes to say something to you, the poster, directly.

What is a PC and an NPC?

PC stands for Player Character or Playable Character; meaning one played by a real person.
NPC stands for Non-Player Character; meaning a character you use just for the purpose of story, training, or interaction.

Advanced Terminology

What is IIC?

IIC stands for "Inactive In Character", for this to apply this must be agreed on by all parties.

What is DE and NDE?

"DE" is Death Enabled, meaning you can die in that thread. "NDE" means Not Death Enabled, meaning you are unable to die.

Rules

Staff and YOU

Can I be a staff member?

To be a staff member you must be a member of the site for at least one month.

What can mods do that assistants can’t?

The only true difference are that mods can accept; Bloodlimits, Seals, Religions, Rituals, Religions, Organizations, Villages or Applications for Positions.

What does a Battle Mod do?

Battle Moderators are used to moderate battles from start to finish, they are expected to be true experts when it comes to battle and will be able to make sure all runs smoothly without arguements.

What does a GFX Mod do?

GFX Mods, other wise known as Graphics Mods, are there to teach skills when it comes to signatures and graphics and they can run contests dealing with graphics.

Character Creation

I can’t find my bio, what do I do?

Your character could possibly have been accepted already, if so there will be a link under your headband, if not you can check in the Accepted Characters. If it was Unfinished it could be in the NF Bios section. If none of these pan out you can PM a staff member to see if the thread has been archived.

When creating my character can I choose an expensive weapon just to sell it later?

Well, to be technical... yes. However this is not encouraged, we reccomend you begin with the weapon you want your character to use.

Can my character have wings and fly with them?

These abilties may be found within the Tsubasa Clan.

Do I have to train the techniques I choose when creating my character?

Nope, those are considered as being learned prior to academy graduation, since you start as a genin you know them already.

Does a fighting style take up a freebie or jutsu to start with?

Nope, not at all. Freebies included Genjutsu Perceptions, Ninjutsu Releases, and Fighting Stances. It is the actual stance that takes up a slot, not the style itself.

Can I play as a canon character?

I'm afraid not. We are a fairly non-canon site meaning, no canon characters.

Can a character start with a custom weapon or technique?

You may so long as it has been put through Custom Creations and accepted.

Character Revamps & Recreations

Am I allowed to revamp my character and choose new techniques by just sending him back to submissions, without having him/her die?

No, the only things you can change in those circumstances are Name, Age, Personality, Appearance, and techniques that have been removed from the site or changed.

Can I swap out my techniques? I don’t like the ones I picked/trained.

No, the only way this can be done is if the technique no longer exists.

When I die do I get all my techniques back for my next character?

When you die you get either five starting techinques, three if in a blood line, or the equal amount of your training points.

How do I re-create a character?

If your character has passed on you will begin by creating a new bio in character submissions. You will create an entierly new character. Links must be included in a post after the bio showing the death thread and the old bio. Then you choose between using five starting techniques, or your TP from your old character. The rest of the information can be found in this thread.

When I re-create do I keep my starting techniques?

You can either keep your starting technique or your training points from your previous character.

Do Missions Carry over from one character to another?

Yes and no. If you are a Gennin you start off with zero missions, if you are a non-ninja you start off with zero missions. If you are a Chuunin you start off with 8 missions, and if you are a Jounin you start off with 15 missions.

Life and Death

If my character dies do I have to make a new account?

No you do not. You keep the same account. TP doesn't transfer from one account to another.

What happens if I’m killed unfairly?

Unfortunately it happens sometimes. Staff can look over the death to make sure all is in order though to make sure everything was done by the book.

The Pathway of the Characters

How many Summons can I have per character?

Each summoning family takes up a Misc. Slot, which means you can have 5 per character.

What does it mean to Grand Master something?

When Grand Mastering something you are gaining the ability to Master something you couldn't before or a new slot for something to train up to 250 TP.

What is Jack of all Trades?

Jack of all Trades allows you to sacrafice TP in one thing and put it in another, however you can only have up to 400 TP in something with this.

How many masteries and specialties can a character have?

You may have two specialties or one mastery.

How do I get a cursed seal?

There are many requierments surrounding the Cursed Seals. First and foremost you must be at least a B ranked ninja. Your must be willing to do something terrible IC and basically be a slave.

If my character isn’t a specialist in something, can I still learn it?

If you are a non-specialist in it then yes, but you are limited.

How do I know when I’m death enabled?

If you're confused about being Death Enabled look here.

Can I change my specialists after creation?

No you may not. Your main specialism, like Taijutsu/Ninjutsu ect. cannot be changed.

Can I pick up minor specialists after creation?

Yes, unless it counts as a main Specialist like Medic.

Can my character discover a BL after creation?

To do this you must make this known at the time of creation and start with three techniques instead of five.

Bloodlimits and Clans

Can I make a Sharingan/Byakugan Combination?

Nope. No Eye mixes.

Can I be a Main Branch Hyuuga?

So long as you acquire permission you may.

Can I start as an Uchiha?

Nope, to have an Uchiha you must have completed at least three events and/or interaction missions.

How do I join a clan?

To join a clan you gain permission [if needed] and then go through meeting a clan member [PC or NPC] and join the clan like that.

Can Byakugan see through Genjutsu?

Yes.

Can I get a Byakugan/Sharingan/Dojutsu transplant?

No, we don't allow eye transplants here as of yet.

If my Sankuchi makes a bird of clay can it function in water?

Sankuchi objects work how they are designed to work if they were real. Meaning a sparrow can fly, but a duck could fly and swim because they can when real.

Can a Sankuchi be a Taijutsu specialist?

Yes they can, but punches C-Rank or above will break and/or damages the hand mouths.

Ninjutsu

Basic Ninjutsu

Can clones perform ninjutsu?

Clones, that aren't Shadow Clones, can perform Ninjutsu of the same release as them.

Do I have to learn Animal Friendship/Teamwork/Understanding for each new animal?

Yes you do.

If I have a Medium companion do I have to learn the C rank version first or can I go straight to B rank?

You can go straight to B rank.

Releases

Am I able to learn more releases?

Yes, you can learn as many releases as you have release slots.

How much TP is it to learn a release?

Learning a release is C-Rank training for a Basic Release, B-Rank for and Advanced (Wood, Sand, or Ice), or A-Rank for Paper.

How many releases can I master?

The amount of releases one can master depends on the type of specialist they are. A non-ninjutsu specialist may learn and master two releases. A ninjutsu specialist may master three releases and a ninjutsu master may master five.

Taijutsu

What exactly is a ‘Non-Specialized’ Fighting Style?

A Non-Specialized fighting style is one that does not deal with releases or advanced things. Some Non-Specialized style include Senbon Taitoku, Goken, Kenpo, Krav Maga and most weapon styles.

Does my character need to be a certain age to go into a drunken style?

No they do not.

Genjutsu

How do perceptions work?

Perceptions work rather like releases. Each perception is a different category and you must learn the perception itself before going into the techniques.

Village Jutsu

How do I learn Kage Bunshin (Shadow Clones)?

To learn Kage Bunshin you must get the scroll from the Kage, who wont give them to non-Chuunin or ANBU, or steal the scroll along with the other Village scrolls.

If I was born in Fire Country but live in another village, can I still have leaf only techniques?

No, even though you were born in the Fire Country you were not privelaged to learn the jutsu for the village.

How do I learn village only techs?

To learn Village only jutsu you must have the Village Scrolls which involves either renting them from the Village or stealing them.

ANBU and Kages

How many NPC’s may a Kage use during a battle or scroll theft?

The Kage may use as many NPCs as there are attackers/thieves minus one. Meaning if one person attacks the Kage there will be no ANBU guards, but if two people attack the Kage will recieve one guard.

What are the requirements for ANBU?

The requirements for ANBU depend on which Division you choose

How do I become Kage?

To become a Kage you must win the Kage election for your village when one is presented.

Weapons, Puppets, and Stuff, literally.

Do seals on my weapon count towards the three my character can have?

No they do not.

If I get a second puppet/sword does it count as a secondary weapon since my character doesn’t use it as much?

No, even if it is unused the second puppet/sword would be a primary weapon.

Who do I talk to about finding a Great Sword?

If you wish to begin the hunt for a Great Sword, speak with the Admin for approval and the creator of the sword if asked for.

Are items reusable or do they vanish after one use?

Certain items are reusable as long as they remain intact. Kunai can be reused but items like explosives can't.
