Basic Forum Rules

The Spirit of the Forum

In the Spirit of Role-playing, everyone should consider a few set things. From time to time, we as Role-players no matter who you are forget the Spirit of Role-playing.

One Do not take anything serious. What does this mean? Do not take anything serious. Why? Because this is the internet. No one can touch you. No one can harm you in any way, so do not take anything serious. So be good, do not start fights, and please do your best to try and not take anything serious.

Two Try to have fun. Do your best to have fun, this is a type of creation to allow someone to relax and do what they wish in the world of Role-play. If someone gets upset with you, try to have fun with your character. If someone attacks you, hey try to make another character, or just try to survive with your character. If someone does something that you do not like, ask them out of character by sending them a PM. Tell them, hey I have something else planned with my character. Just remember to try to have fun.

Three Members are treated with respect. There is no such thing as the word "noob" within sites. Those that call others "noobs" are what they say "noobs" themselves. "Newbs" are those who are new to the site wishing to learn. Other members who wish to cause trouble are short term. Statistics such as post count, positions, or time spent on Naruto Forum Role-play are meaningless. Staffs are members; they should be seen as the board's workers, not as all-powerful deities. Everyone should aim to get along with one another, avoid conflict, respect each other, and respect the boards.

The Ten Board wide Rules

1 - No Flaming - Do not insult other members. A flame that is meant as a joke is not accepted. If an insult was obvious to be a joke to everyone seeing it may be acceptable. However to be safe do not do it. If flamed, contact a Staff Member. Do not retaliate. There are three Classifications of Flames

1. Unintended - An insult where it did not mean to insult. These may be excusable.

2. Minor - An insult that is a spur of the moment without thinking correctly. This is not excusable.

3. Major - An insult or set of insults that are clear and calm trying to cause maximum distress someone.

2 - No Baiting - Do not treat others badly. Do not treat others in an intention of angering or upsetting them. If you feel you are being baited ask them to please stop, however do not counter act with a flame or bait. If the one baiting continues, please contact a Staff Member. Sometimes a bait is considered to be a flame, if you receive one still please contact a Staff Member.

3 - No Drama Whoring - One who constantly craves the chaos, feeling, and attention that drama can bring along with it. Often the drama sleeper will send out messages with absolutely no content except for something inflammatory or retaliatory directed at another person they dislike. Keep all harmful personal objectives off the boards. Do not turn opinions within the community against other members or seek to discredit members that you do not like.

4 - No Harassment - If a member asks you to not contact them or interact with them through Private Messenger or within Naruto Role-play please abide by the request or else it is considered to be Harassment. If a user is harassing please contact a Staff Member. A member may not ask or tell a Staff Member to stay away from a thread that needs Grading or Accepting. If you feel that you are being treated unfairly please contact Higher Staff

5 - No Flooding - Defined as either posting more than five new threads in the same forum in an one hour period without staff permission, or bumping a load of dead topics which causes the previously active threads to drop off the first page. Do Not Bump a Thread. Please direct to Posting and You Thread to learn about Posting.

6 - No Advertising - Please do not post any type of advertising through the forum. You are not allowed to Private Message people inviting to sites. If you are caught, you will be banned. If you wish to advertise or affiliate with the site, please post your site within the Advertising and Affiliations Board.

7 - No Trolling - Trolling means deliberately seeking to cause damage to the community. Neo-trolling is another variant of this whereby you try to cause damage without making it seem like actual trolling (i.e.: subtle and intelligent trolling). This can include:

1. Maliciously exploiting 'loop holes' in the rules.

2. Seeking to constantly or massively undermine staff.

3. Massively or constantly publicly attacking the forum or how it is run on sites both associated and unassociated with the forum.

4. Privately plotting to cause problems on the forum.

5. Maliciously breaking rules.

6. After banning and returning by using other means.

7. Hacking - No hacking, or talking about hacking. Any form of speaking that may deal with hacking is an automatic ban.

8. Respect the mods: If a mod closes a thread, or tells you to quit doing something, then please listen to them. While what they ask for may not make sense to you, it will make sense to everyone else who want what is best for the forum. If you are unhappy with a mod, then do not make a public protest thread, but PM an admin with the complaint and we will deal with it if necessary. You should have enough respect for mods and the time which they put in to be able to trust their judgment and the job that they do.

8 - No Post Content Abuse - Make sure that your posts are readable. Any media used must be used keeping into consideration that not everyone has broadband access. Do not post background music or imbedded media in a thread. Topics with adult content media must contain a thread warning. If Any Picture or Sig. is big enough to stretch the forum in anyway it will be removed.

9 - No Public Complaints - Keep all Out of Character disputes away from In Character Interactions such as...any In Character Interaction. If there is a dispute, either makes an Out of Character thread or contact a Staff Member about the dispute. Do not make threads to discredit the site. If a complaint please make a post found in our Complaints board.

10 - Posting Capabilities - A user is capable of being within two threads at the same. A Role-playing thread and a Training thread. This means a user may be stuck inside a Training thread while having fun in a Role-playing thread. This rule has a restriction. If a user is inside a Fight, or any type of Mission including an Event the user may not use any technique that they have learned inside the Training thread that has been done during the Role-playing thread.

A user may not TRAIN In ANY other THREAD what so ever and still be training in another thread. This means no Training in a Mission and having a Training Mission.

A Training Thread is a Private Thread.

If two People are in a Training Thread Training together it takes up a Training Thread and a Role-playing Thread

You may be in a Training Thread in one Country and a Role-Playing Thread in another Country because in a Training Thread all you are doing is Learning.

For Techniques that have "Must learn from " and has a singular Master it takes up a Training Thread and a Role-Playing Thread.

Example: User started a Mission on October 18th. User is Training into a technique on October 19th. User is still in the Mission on October 22nd but has finished Training into the technique on October 21st. User may not perform the technique until they are done with mission.

Consequences - The consequences of trying to bypass Rule 10 is TP reduction to the fullest extension of TP Reduction. Do not let staff catch you try to cheat. Do not let staff see you in more then one Role-playing thread. Do not let staff catch you roaming in more then one country. Do not let staff catch you do wrong.

:::Disciplinary Actions:::

Table of Contents

Overview

Black List

Verbal Warning

First Warning

Second Warning

Third Warning

Temperary Banment

Perma-Banment

:::Overview:::

When receiving a disciplinary action, there are rules that must and always has to be followed by All Staff Members. These members are the Assistants, the Moderators, the Head Moderators, and the Admin. There are six types of Disciplinary Actions that are followed to keep the site safe, to keep the members safe, and to weed out those who are wishing to start trouble, and never learn that rules are around for reasons.

The different types of Disciplinary Actions are Verbal Warnings, the First Warning, the Second Warning, the Third Warning, the Temporary Banment, and finally the Perma-Banment.

Each Disciplinary Action lasts for so long, and no matter what happens each action always adds up and accumulates. Each and every single Disciplinary Action is recorded within your Account Notes that can only be seen by Staff. This is your record, to see what you have done, and what you have not done throughout the course of the site Naruto Forum RP.

Within the Account Notes, no Note will ever be deleted, or removed. Each note is your record along the site of Naruto Forum RP. Each Disciplinary Action will be recorded by first stating what type of action is given to them, then the date of when the action was given, as well as the date the action will be taken away, or removed, such as warnings. After that then the reason why they were given the warning, or Disciplinary Action was placed upon their Account Notes.

How An Action Looks in Account Notes

Verbal Warning - 1/01/08 - 1/01/08 - Spamming in Multiple Threads
First Warning - 1/01/08 - 1/08/08 - Spamming in Multiple Threads
Second warning - 1/02/08 - 1/23/08 - Flame Staff Member

A warning will only go down when the most severe warning passes. This means that if we take the How An Action Looks in Account Notes as an example. The Second warning will be removed on the Twenty Third of Janurary however they will still have the First Warning for a remainder of Five Business Days. After Five Business days from the Second Warning has Been Removed, then the First Warning will finally be removed, and the user who has had the Disciplinary Action brought upon them will have no more warnings.

There are however cases that we know about where one changes accounts all the time, however if a member starts becoming a problem staff remembers who they are, and sooner or later, that member will become a member of the Black List, or will have the Actions accumulate upon all accounts. So please do not take this as a way of trying to find a loophole out of a Disciplinary action, for an action is not per account, it is per person.

:::Black List:::

The Black List is a list of members who does not seem to follow the rules, who always wish to break the rules, or always seems to be a problem, however are not banned. These members are those who bring in story lines, however never finishes them, creates controversy, and wishes to push the buttons with staff. These members are on what is considered as a probation. This probational period lasts as long as the Higher Staff feels comfortable with the member, feels comfortable that they will be capable of performing within the Site, performing within the Site Rules without to much of a problem.

Those who are within the Black List are incapable of helping with an event, creating an event, becoming staff members, Roleplay Teachers, Kages or Game Masters. They are basically stuck in a limbolistic form of free form roleplaying without taking action as that of killing spree, Kage coupe, scroll stealing, or organizational bring up, or participation. Reasons why we have this is because we want to see if someone is actually capable of following the rules while having such harsh restrictions. Capable of participating without becoming a bother within Staff.

:::Verbal Warning:::

When there is a first time offense, when one who does not know the rules, who is new to the Roleplaying site of Naruto Forum RP, one is issued a verbal. A verbal is issued for small offenses such as spamming. Larger Offenses such as trolling, full out flaming the Verbal Warning does not take place as a full force First Warning comes into play. A Verbal Warning is to be shown that staff is not watching, and that the consequences would be dire if the problem continues to arise.

If a member of the Naruto Forum RP Site is older then that of four months, this rule does not apply. By now they must be acquainted by the rules of the site, and will no longer be given a verbal warning as they will be given an automatic Thirty Three Percent. This rule however may be wavered if there are multiple assailants provoking, or being provoked within a Thread or Board. An example would be is when one is being attacked multiple times who can not hold their tongue any longer.

A Verbal Warning lasts for one Day. If a member of the site continues to be distressed, continues to break the rules of Naruto Forum RP, will then have the First Warning Placed upon them.

When a Verbal Warning is made, a staff member will write in the Disciplinary Board found in the Admin Section, stating when the Verbal was placed, why the Verbal was stated, and will give a link to the thread, or evidence as to why they gave the Verbal Warning. The Title of the Thread Must say "Verbal Warning - Name of Person" when the staff member makes the thread.

First Warning - 33 Percent:::

When a member who is old enough to receive a first warning automatically, or if a member continues to pursue their wrong pass the Verbal Warning will then receive the First Warning, which is a Thirty Three Percent Warning Level placed within the Warning Box. The first Warning is a symbol to show that one must stop what they are doing, or else then they will suddenly gain harsher consequences. A Warning is a symbol to show that wrong was done, and they must take the time to reflect on what was done, hopefully they learn.

The First Warning Lasts for a total of Five Business days, which is considered to be one week. The first Warning is a cooldown, hopefully to show that the staff are serious about the decisions being made, hopefully to show that those who are starting the warnings, are breaking the rules will stop and continue to be civil.

When a First Warning is made, a staff member will write in the Disciplinary Board found in the Admin Section, stating when the First Warning was placed, why the First Warning was stated, How Long the First Warning will be, and will give a link to the thread, or evidence as to why they gave the First Warning. The Title of the Thread Must say "First Warning - Name of Person" when the staff member makes the thread.

:::Second Warning - 66 Percent:::

If a Member is considered as a Veteran, if a Member is considered to be a trouble maker, one who gains multiple First Warnings, to wait for the Warning to Disappear and continue, or one who Continues to start trouble while having the First Warning Placed upon the member will then gain the Second Warning. The Second Warning is an advanced warning which is a Sixty Six Percent Warning Level placed within the Warning Box. The Second Warning is consider as one who is a Trouble Maker, one who does not understand or wish to follow the rules. However one may actually take the time to understand that people slip up. The First Warning May be Skipped if necessary depending on the Member's status on the Site, and previous Disciplinary Actions.

The Second Warning Lasts for a total of Fifteen Business days, which is considered to be three weeks. The Second Warning is a Secondary Cooldown, hopefully to show that the staff are serious about the decisions being made, hopefully to show that those who are starting the warnings, are breaking the rules will stop and continue to be civil. Staff must take care to watch carefully with these members because sometimes a member who receives a Second Warning will continue their actions to be forced with harsher Disciplinary actions. After the Second warning is lifted, the Second Warning will go down to a First Warning, in which the person who was gained the Disciplinary Action must wait an additional Five Business days for the Warning to be removed.

When a Second Warning is made, a staff member will write in the Disciplinary Board found in the Admin Section, stating when the Second Warning was placed, why the Second Warning was stated, How Long the Second Warning will be, and will give a link to the thread, or evidence as to why they gave the Second Warning. The Title of the Thread Must say "Second Warning - Name of Person" when the staff member makes the thread.

:::Third Warning - 100 Percent:::

If a Member is considered as a Veteran, if a Member is considered to be a trouble maker, one who gains multiple Second Warnings, to wait for the Warnings to Disappear and continue, or one who Continues to start trouble while having the Second Warning Placed upon the member will then gain the Third Warning. The Third Warning is a Last Resort warning which is a One Hundred Percent Warning Level placed within the Warning Box. The Third Warning is consider as one who is a Trouble Maker, one who does not understand or wish to follow the rules, a borderline of being Temporary Banned. At this Point there is no such things as Slip ups for they are searching for trouble. The Second Warning May be Skipped if necessary depending on the Member's status on the Site, and previous Disciplinary Actions.

The Third Warning Lasts for a total of Thirty Business days, which is considered to be six weeks. The Third Warning is a Borderline Temporary or Perma-Bam, staff becomes serious about the decisions being made, and that all actions going against rules must stop or else harsh actions will be taken place. Staff must take care to watch carefully with these members because sometimes a member who receives a Third Warning will continue their actions to be forced with harsher Disciplinary actions such as a Temporary Banment or Perma-Banment. After the Third Warning is lifted, the Third Warning will go down to a Second Warning, in which the person who was gained the Disciplinary Action must wait an additional Fifteen Business days for the Warning to be removed, and reduced down to the First Warning. After the Second warning is lifted, the Second Warning will go down to a First Warning, in which the person who was gained the Disciplinary Action must wait an additional Five Business days for the Warning to be removed.

When a Third Warning is made, a staff member will write in the Disciplinary Board found in the Admin Section, stating when the Third Warning was placed, why the Third Warning was stated, How Long the Third Warning will be, and will give a link to the thread, or evidence as to why they gave the Third Warning. The Title of the Thread Must say "Third Warning - Name of Person" when the staff member makes the thread.

:::Temporary Banment:::

Those who are higher staff are capable of issuing out a Temporary Banment. Temporary Banment are for serious cases caused by those who wish to do incredible wrong within the site of Naruto Forum RP. Some serious actions may occur such as severe Trolling, multiple Third Warnings, and continuing, or Cheating multiple times while trying to be slick, and lie to the staff. No other Staff member is capable of placing a Banment upon a member at any time. Reasons why is because there are safety precautions with this decision so it is placed upon the shoulders of the Admin, and the Head Moderators.

The Temporary Banment Lasts for a total of five Business days, which is considered to be one weeks. The Temporary Banment is a Borderline Perma-Bam. A Member is incapable of looking inside the website or posting within the website as long as they are banned. A Member depending on how they are banned is also incapable of making a character within the site. Staff must stay on their toes because there are times when a member will try to bypass the Banment. When the Temporary Banment is removed, the user will have a Third Warning. The Third Warning Lasts for a total of Thirty Business days, which is considered to be six weeks. The Third Warning is a Borderline Temporary or Perma-Bam once again.

When a Temporary Banment is made, a staff member will write in the Disciplinary Board found in the Admin Section, stating when the Temporary Banment was placed, why the Temporary Banment was stated, How Long the Temporary Banment will be, and will give a link to the thread, or evidence as to why they gave the Temporary Banment. The Title of the Thread Must say "Temporary Banment - Name of Person" when the staff member makes the thread.

:::Perma-Banment:::

Those who are higher staff are capable of issuing out a Perma-Banment. Perma-Banment are for serious cases caused by those who wish to do incredible wrong within the site of Naruto Forum RP. Some serious actions may occur such as severe Trolling, multiple Third Warnings, and continuing, or Cheating multiple times while trying to be slick, and lie to the staff. The Perma-Banment is the type of Ban where Staff no longer wishes to have the user in question on the site any longer. The Member is no longer welcome on Naruto Forum RP. No other Staff member is capable of placing a Banment upon a member at any time. Reasons why is because there are safety precautions with this decision so it is placed upon the shoulders of the Admin, and the Head Moderators.

When a Perma-Banment is made, a staff member will write in the Disciplinary Board found in the Admin Section, stating when the Perma-Banment was placed, why the Perma-Banment was stated, and will give a link to the thread, or evidence as to why they gave the Temporary Banment. The Title of the Thread Must say "Perma-Banment - Name of Person" when the staff member makes the thread. After all that is done, it is the Admin's job to take the time, and search for every account created by the member, and delete each account.

PostSubject: Re: Basic Rules and C-Box Rules   Wed Jul 22, 2009 7:15 am

Cbox Understanding

The C-Box is a place where those who wish to engage into conversation with one another may occur in order to wait out for others to post. This place is also used to allow people to interact with one another in conversations of Out of Character. The C-Box however is somewhat limited and because of that there is different rules and standards of the C-Box. Some rules may be similar to that of the Forum, while others are quite different. The most different part however of the C-Box is that of the punishments when breaking or disregarding the rules. There is a lot of problems that may occur within the C-Box and these problems will be addressed accordingly.

Zero Tolerance

After careful consideration, after constant bickering within the Cbox, the rules, the Discipline will change dramatically. There will be Zero Tolerance within how the C-box will function. Having the Cbox taken away will not solve problems, enforcing shall. The only person that those who feel should be angry at are the ones capable of banning those from the Cbox. As everyone should know the C-Box is a privilege. Privileges may be taken away at any time if their is probable cause. There are certain things that the users is capable of doing within the C-Box and this is what keeps things in order, and fun within the C-Box. People may engage in conversations with one another, discuss, talk, and just have fun. It is basically a chat where people may talk with one another in a kind way.

Four Primary Rules of Cbox

First Rule: Please do not post anything pornographic: links, advertisements, or pictures within the C-Box. Do not post anything that disrupts a site such as links in which someone can not click out of.

Second Rule: No Baiting, No Flaming, No Antagonizing, No Trolling, No Spamming, No Changing of Font Size or Color, (Bold, Italic, Underline is fine.) and No Fighting. Keep it English

Third Rule: Absolutely no advertising within the C Box, failure to do so will result to a perma-band. If you wish to advertise please look into the affiliation boards. Same rule applies to pm advertisements.

Fourth Rule: You May only Ask to have your Bios checked in the Cbox, but show the links. Anything Else PM staff or else they will be ignored, and you will not speak in Cbox.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rules of the C-Box Closer Look

Warning: Constant usage of C-box may cause depleted IQ points

These rules were developed to be fair to all. We only want to make the Cbox experience a little better for everyone.

[1] All conversations must be kept "PG-13" at all times. Let me make this perfectly clear right now, there is to be no talk of rape, implied rape, sexual activity, sexual organs, drugs, or implied drug use. Keep it family friendly! Posting links to manga with questionable material is also against this rule and will result in an immediate ban. There is no exception to this rule.

[2] Try to keep the number of conversations going on at any given time to a minimal. I don't mean that you cannot speak on a different topic if someone is talking but try not to start ten different conversations at one time. The space provided is limited and it can become very annoying and troublesome to have to sift through so many topics. (This will not get you banned, this is just a courtesy call)

[3] You may not steal another person's name. If you are new, it is known that one does not know names within the forum. So having two people with the name of Ryu would be fine. However, taking a whole entire name in which was previously stated, or lieing who you are, posing as a veteran or new member will not be tolerated. This will get you immediately banned.

[4] Your personal like and dislike is of none of any one's concern but your own, so keep them to your self. Religion, politics, and personal prejudices should not be spoken in the Cbox at any time. If you are caught breaking this rule you will be warned only once. Should you fail to comply you may be banned.

[5] The site of Naruto Forum RP is an enter at your own risk. If one comes in while spoilers are being stated within the Cbox that is considered to be your own fault. If something is a day or two old we ask please no spoilers. However a few weeks after something has been out it is not considered to be spoilers and may be discussed. We do however ask to keep spoilers to a minimum do not give out full flat out plots or endings. Going against will cause trouble.

[6] No advertising. Posting links to other forums is not allowed. Posting things such as videos, songs are permitted, or if you are posting something that deals something that is not benefiting another site do not post it. Going against this rule will result into a ban. This rule may result into a perma ban.

[7] Keep your own personal problems to yourself. If you feel the sudden urge to speak forth about how people of Naruto Forum Roleplay does not like you, how harsh things are. That is a big no no. If you have a personal problem that needs to be addressed however, please explain it. Best way of explaining is do not search for attention. Should you fail to comply you will be banned, no questions asked.

[8] Do not try to bypass the filters they are there for a reason. If there is something however in which a name may have been filtered it is fine. For Example the Clan known as the Shitakuma, the word Shit will be filtered, it is fine to bypass that for the name. However using the name to insult someone will result into being removed.

[9] If you have an issue with a staff member do not address it in the C-Box. Please speak to the Higher Staff such as the Admins and the Headmods. Please explain to them of the situation, and please let them know of what is going on. Provide with as much evidence as possible. If something is however occurring off Site, there is really nothing we can do about it, except telling them to stop.

[10] If for any reason a person is being unreasonable, even if they are following these rules, it will result in disciplinary actions. Anyone caught trying to disobey the intent of the law, by finding "loopholes" will also be punished.

[11] The universal language of the C-Box is English as well as the Site. Although you do have a freedom of expression, but it only makes it more difficult to monitor the conversations when they are in a language we do not understand. Keep it in English. If you are talking about a Technique it is fine, simple phrases and words is also fine. Greetings and saying your goodbyes are also fine, other then that however please keep it English. This also includes the Leet Language.

If you have a problem with this Rule it has been addressed to Support linked Here.

[12] If you are Not a staff member do not mini-mod. Mini-modding is pretending to be a mod and "reminding" people to follow the rules. Please, just let a Staff member know. You do not have to keep reminding people of the rules. However if a situation arises then please state it. (This will not get you banned, this is just a courtesy call unless you are considering of breaking Rule 10.)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Disciplinary Actions Within C-Box

When one breaks the cbox rules it is best to know and understand that there will be consequences.

Warning: Constant Rule Breaking may causse for banment

The Cbox was not always this harsh, we used to have it where almost anything goes, however due to actions over the last two years we of Naruto Forum RP have decided it is best to make the Cbox Restricted rather then removing the Cbox All together.

[1] When a person goes against a rule in which is considered wrong, then the user will be faced with a week ban from the cbox. There are no Day Bans, no Hour Chill Pills. It will be simply a week ban and that is it.

BREAK A RULE FROM CBOX = BAN FOR A WEEK FROM CBOX

[2] If a user does not wish to go with the ban and find ways to continue to get onto the cbox, they will continue to be banned and will have to restart their Week ban. At this time they will be given an actual verbal within the website account.

[3] If a user does not wish to go with the ban and find ways to continue to get onto the cbox, they will continue to be banned and will have to restart their Week ban. At this time they will be given two warnings for continuous disregard to the rules and disciplinary actions.

[4] If a user does not wish to go with the ban and find ways to continue to get onto the cbox, they will continue to be banned and will have to restart their Week ban. At this time they will be from the website until their banment from the Cbox is no longer in affect.
